ABB 5SHY3545L0010 3BHB013088R0001 IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor)，绝缘栅双极型功率管，是由BJT(双极型三极管)和MOS(绝缘栅型场效应管)组成的复合全控型电压驱动式电力半导体器件, 兼有MOSFET的高输入阻抗和GTR的低导通压降两方面的优点。GTR饱和压降低，载流密度大，但驱动电流较大;MOSFET驱动功率很小，开关速度快，但导通压降大，载流密度小。IGBT综合了以上两种器件的优点，驱动功率小而饱和压降低。非常适合应用于直流电压为600V及以上的变流系统如交流电机、变频器、开关电源、照明电路、牵引传动等领域。IGBT与可控硅相比各有优点，前者是可控制开-关元件，后者大多数是只能控制开，不能控制关（现在有可关断可控硅了）。受元件制造工艺和工作原理等影响，前者可在较高频率下工作（高25KHz左右），后者大多在5KHz以内，这个是前者比后者的优点。前者相比的缺点是成本高，制造工艺复杂，在高压大电流元件的制造上，还达不到可控硅的能力，并且在抗过载能力上远远不及可控硅。随着制造工艺的进步，短路保护的日趋完善，前者在元件成本上已经大大下降，在很多场合与可控硅相比价格完全可以接受，并且由于控制灵活方便，能取消可控硅电路的关断电路等，在很多场合完全可以替代可控硅，并且性能更好。

可控硅、GTO是电流触发，其中可控硅触发导通后要等到电流过0时才关断；GTO称之为可关断可控硅，可以在有电流时关断。MOSFET和IGBT是电压控制器件，类似于场效应管，可通过栅极电压控制其导通和关断，开关速度高于GTO，由于MOSFET的耐压水平不能再继续提高，后推出场效应管与双极型管结合的器件IGBT。它们共同的作用就是可以用较小的电流（或电压）去控制较大的电流，同时都具有单向导电性，均可作为整流和逆变元件使用，。但相比之下，可控硅的应用范围相对狭窄，但因为这些器件中，可控硅是廉价的，工艺成熟，可做成高压、大电流，所以在整流、大功率的同步逆变、调功等装置中还是有较大优势。IGBT与GTO、MOSFET器件相比在开关速度、耐压、驱动功率上有更的特性，所以被应用在变频器、有源滤波和补偿、逆变等领域。
